Oklahoma Included in the 40 State Regional FMCSA Emergency Declaration

On January 23, 2026, FMCSA issued a 40 State Regional Emergency Declaration. The Declaration provides emergency regulatory relief from certain requirements in Part 395 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.

Oklahoma Department of Public Safety Commissioner, Tim Tipton has declared a suspension of 49 C.F.R. § Part 395.3 for delivery drivers of residential heating fuel beginning 12:01 a.m. CST Wednesday, January 21, 2026 and cease 11:59 p.m. CST on Tuesday, January 27, 2026.  This suspension includes all 77 counties in the state of Oklahoma.

The Oklahoma Propane Education and Safety Council (OPESC) approved the Oklahoma Propane Education Scholarship program at its last meeting.  The purpose of the program is to award post-secondary education scholarships to children of Oklahoma propane marketer employees.  Up to ten (10) $1,000.00 scholarships will be awarded.
